Early Dawn Microfinance Company Limited (“DAWN”) is a regulated microfinance institution that currently serves over 270,000 clients in 68 branches in Myanmar. It is a fast growing Institution with over 1,000 employees, with plans to expand to new regions, to serve additional segments of clients, with new and better products and services, to introduce innovations based on technology, and with an obvious need for additional departments and positions ( DAWN is registered under the Ministry of Planning and Finance, and was granted a license by the Financial Regulatory Department to provide financial services to low-income clients as well as to small and medium businesses.

Based in Yangon, Head Office, the incumbent will serve as Business Data Analyst of DAWN, reporting to Operations Manager. He/she is responsible for the creation and maintenance of various business reports, analysis, and Power Point presentations; data models and analytical tools to provide data analytical support to various operations competencies of an organization.

Key Responsibility:

  • Analyze the business operational, financial data and the other performance related data using statistical techniques and generate requested reports.
  • Provide analytical support, business data analysts to comprehend the business and information needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departmental managers to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, data cleaning, data enrichment and build dashboards/reports to management.
  • Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs.
  • Identifying patterns and trends in data sets.
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Inform and report to MIS department with the evidence if any of the errors are detected in any customized operation report generated by MIS.
  • Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
  • Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Prepare presentations on Business analysis data based on requirements.

Perform other tasks linked to the role and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or other equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 year of working experience as Data Analyst.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Extensive expertise in data modeling, both logical and physical.
  • Extensive expertise in at least one data reporting tool (e.g. Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Expertise in data retrieval, data modeling, data warehouse design, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows, schedulers, and event-based triggers.
  • Experience working with statistical programming software such as R and Python.
  • Strong analytical and data modeling skills with the ability to construct accurate queries/reports upon request.
  • Able to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Track record in analyzing large datasets; capability in executing full data cycle including data manipulation and visualization.
  • Good project management skills with high attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities for maximum delivery result.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communications skills in both English and Myanmar.
  • Committed, results-oriented, and solid team player.
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information with high level of integrity.
  • Able to plan, organize, work under pressure and tight deadline, in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
