Job Summary

The Finance Officer (FO) will be responsible for assisting the Senior Finance Officer (SFO) to effectively and efficiently manage the financial matters of the DAWN, making sure operations are in line with DAWN policies and procedures, including financial control and bookkeeping, internal audit, reconciliation in financial reports. The FO will also assist the SFO in strengthening DAWN’s financial management function in line with the organization’s overall strategic goals and objectives.

Job Description 

·       Ensures the smooth day-to-day running of branch office financial services.

·       Supervise Finance Assistant and Teller.

·       Ensure compliance with all financial policies, procurement policies and procedures of DAWN.

·       Assist Branch Manager in preparation of budgets / Monthly Forecast / Weekly Plan for Branch Office operation activities

·       Review the branch’s statement of Profit or Loss which was sent from the Accountant to the Branch Manager’s monthly basic

·       Ensure the proper bookkeeping of financial transactions, receipts, expenses, advances, and transfers.

·       Ensure the preparation of the daily cash reconciliation and monthly bank reconciliation.

·       Ensure the data accuracy in Kredits and reconciliation of Kredits cash book and loan portfolio and saving transactions done by Finance Assistant.

·       Ensure the Fixed Asset and Inventory records are properly kept by Finance Assistant.

·       Coordinate with Regional Finance Officer, prepare all branch monthly reports and submit to the accountant on time.

·       Ensure correct preparation of the cash flow, review monthly financial reports & forward to Head office.

·       Ensure that the cash and bank accounts are managed according to policies and procedures, including daily cash-counts

·       Prepare other financial reports and documentation as required.

·       Ensure original financial documents are sent to Head Office weekly basic.

·       Ensure that staff advances and petty cash are settled on a regular basis and according to policies and procedures.

·       Ensure compliance with banking regulations.

·       Guide Finance Assistant and Teller on the proper preparation of financial documents and supports.

·       Ensure the internal control of the branch office.

·       Ensure external and internal Audit finding.

·       Check daily cash book report properly with detail documents and attachments.

·       Promote staff development through mentoring, coaching, and training of Finance Assistant and Teller.

·       Ensure timely follow-up of all required action and keep the supervisor well informed on related matters.

·       Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor when necessary.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (or) Bachelor’s degree with LCCI-2 (UK)

·       Must know both IL and GL processes. (Must got IL methodology training at least.)

·       Must 2 years of working experience in other microfinance institutions & banks sector and at least 3 years of working experience in Early Dawn Microfinance Co., Ltd

·       Good computer skills –MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint

·       Good communication, monitoring, and planning skills

·       Commitment to and understanding of aims, values, and principles
